This box of 30 natural astaxanthin capsules are taken at a dose of 1 capsule per day giving 8mg of astaxanthin with some added vitamin D for absorption. The capsules are vegan so they are suitable for everyone. More research is required but it seems that a dose of 6-12mg per day is now considered optimal with higher doses maybe having some negative side effects.

In use the capsules are an average size and are easy to swallow. Because astaxanthin is fat soluble they are best taken after a meal maximum absorption.

Overall, for the current asking price of £14.99 I think these are a reasonably priced high quality supplement from a reputable UK manufacturer and would happily get these again.

I take one of these astaxanthin capsules a day, which supplied 8mg of astaxanthin. The great thing is that it's a natural form and not synthetic, which is always better and more effective. Wellgard seems to be one of the better brands I have used, I particularly liked their shilajit, and every supplement I have used from them is high quality, the same with this.

The capsules are easy to swallow and have a smooth coating, no flavours or odours.

The pop out of the foil easily. No bad side effects, and I have noticed less DOMs muscle soreness after workouts.

Unless you suffer from any conditions such as autoimmune disorders or diabetes, to name but two; just check with your medical practitioner to see if it's okay for you to consume Astaxanthin prior-to placing an order; but if you can safely consume-it, then there is no stronger 'natural' antioxidant than Astaxanthin.

This forms part of the five basic supplements that I consume on a regular basis. Vitamin D, magnesium, an all-round multivitamin with generous daily Vitamin-B levels, are a few of the others.

This appears-to be a normal capsule which has been crimped to seal-in the active ingredient. These are normally encased within a soft-gel; so, this is new.

But it does work, especially as the capsules are further protected by being individually packaged, too. You don't want-to have this breaking, because the red pigment 'really' stains if it's allowed-to leak, especially over fabrics.

8mg is a generous amount of Astaxanthin, too. Most are 4mg, and I use anything up to 10mg per-day. Much more than that dose, and you could face stomach issues, and be wary of some claiming very high potencies of Astaxanthin, as this is sometimes just derived from a 5% oil. Also be aware that Astaxanthin is made more bioavailable (better absorbed by the body) if it’s allowed-to travel within a good oil-base, rather-than a dry-capsule. But anything is better than nothing, as it's so powerful; but Astaxanthin products such as this particular one are ‘much-favoured’ over less-well absorbed forms.

This product was very late in getting to me; so, I've only had a few weeks to use it; whereas three-months of continuous use will be more-like the time-scale before you may notice any potential benefits to taking Astaxanthin. Furthermore, you’re not necessarily going-to notice any obvious improvements, as this should be helping you in the background; so-to speak. I.e.; You’re not getting unwell, when others around you are; because ‘something’ inside you is ‘silently’ fighting-off the virus. Or, it could aid collagen production, for which you may just notice a slight improvement because Astaxanthin is like Vitamin-C on steroids; (thousands of times more potent) and Vitamin-C does aid collagen production; but Astaxanthins role in this is ‘still’ an unproven potential benefit.

I normally wouldn’t report my findings any earlier than this; but having administered Astaxanthin since it’s first availability; (I was in the supplements industry) I can tell you that this product is fine. I did have some very mild stomach pain issues, but that this pain cannot be directly, or necessarily attributed to being caused by this particular product. I’m just reporting my findings as I see them. Plus, it was momentary, and definitely not a ‘deal-breaker’.

The inclusion of Vitamin D3 is obviously welcomed, and it is obviously made from either lichen or a micro-algae to make this a vegan product.

So, as long as it’s safe for you to consume Astaxanthin; I’d take a little, and this reasonably high potency, high absorption version is one to initially try; but you just need-to give it time to support you.

This Vegan Astaxanthin Supplement from Wellgard seems like a good product. Each capsule provides 8mg of astaxanthin, and it also has Vitamin D3. The capsules are easy to swallow, and with 30 capsules in the bottle, it’s a month’s supply for £15 (at the time of writing).
