Jaysea Lynn was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, and has always been a lover of fantasy and storytelling. After graduating from college, she purchased and lived aboard a 35-foot sailboat for eight years. During that time, she found success with Hell’s Belles, her comedy/drama skit series on TikTok, and gained the confidence to share her writing, which had been a lifelong but private passion. I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars. I read this book on new year eve/ new year's day and it was honestly the best book to start my year off with.Beautifully written, great plot and I love all the characters but especially lily and sharkie.

    Having followed Jaysea on TikTok for a few years, and was there to witness the birth of the Hellp Desk skits, I quickly subscribed to her Patreon, and devoured the first draft of this book as it was being written. I bought this yesterday and finished it in the early hours of this morning.

    The world building in this novel is one of the most imaginative, and comforting imaginings of what the afterlife would be like. The characters are easy to fall in love with, and the storyline is beautiful. It's very well written (it's hard to believe this is a debut novel) and easy to read, so much so that you can delve into it and not realise that you've lost hours to this book.

    There are several sex scenes that get spicy, but aren't exactly integral, so if that isn't your thing you can skip them and you lose nothing of the actual story.

    I think it's important to give a content warning for child abuse (which is included in the preface). This is handled so well, so respectfully, and it's important to note, is not gratuitously there for the sake it.

    Very imaginative, plenty of funny moments, and a lot of heartbreaking and poignant moments that make you well up. This has been my ultimate comfort book for some time now, and in it's final published edition, it'll remain so for a long, long time.

    What can I say to convince everyone to read this book?

    This book had me crying and sobbing. The way this book had torn my heart up and pieced it back together over and over. Lily, our FMC is a wonderfully funny and broken woman who dies of cancer. The story follows her new existence in the afterlife and her adventures in Hell.

    Lily is badass, funny and most importantly, real. The way Lily was written is just real. Reading this book feels like a friend telling you an epic tale of her adventures after not seeing her for years. She's just human.

    Now let's talk MMCs. Demons? ✔️ Sexy Demons? ✔️ Funny and Nerdy Demons? ✔️
    What else can I say?? All the men were so clearly written by a woman it's insane.

    I've been following the story of the Hellp Desk (hahaha. IYKYK) for a while now on tiktok, the book couldn't have been any better. I couldn't have asked for more. I cannot wait for book 2!!!

    I knew going in I would love this book. As a big fan of Hells Belles, it was always going to be a book I would fall in love with. The characters feel as well represented as they do in the show, if not more so, and everything about it felt incredible.

    What I perhaps wasn’t expecting was for this book to make me cry more than once, and to be written so incredibly well. I would never have assumed this is a first book, and while I know that we may not get more books of the Belles, I would be so happy to read more and more of this world, and of Jaysea’s work.

    My only complaint with this book is that it gave me an eye strain headache because I seriously couldn't stop reading it. I've loved the Hell's Belles series on TikTok and learning about the origins of the characters has been an emotional rollercoaster. I'm even writing this with tears in my eyes.

    I cannot recommend this book strongly enough for fans of satirical or erotic fantasy. It is well written creative, humourous, heartwarming, heartbreaking, and thrilling in equal measure.

    All in all, it was an honour to read, and I can't wait to see what the author does next.

    As someone who waited with baited breath for this release, stepping into the world of Hell's Belles once more was like coming home.

    It had me kicking up my feet, giggling, laughing hysterically, repeatedly screeching "THEY SAID THE THING!" and crying (good tears) Seeing characters that I adored come to life again in pages was such a treat.

    But it isn't just for the fans. There's so much healing in these pages, such understanding from the writer and it truly makes you feel more accepted, and more able to accept yourself.

    I can't wait to see what comes next.

    From the title of Beef to the genuine kindness and goodness from people being assertive (in the good way) really expands the emotional reach of the story. I liked that the "big bad" in the war of the universes actually went into the empathy that Epic the musical tries to explain occurs within war. There was a reason for everything and I cried numerous times and cited Taylor Swift as a response to certain areas of the book. The spice/smut was fantastically written. Generous description and good length per scene without cutting things too short or dragging them out unnecessarily.

    This book was everything I hoped for and more! After enjoying just about every part of Hell's Bells on TikTok, I thought I knew what I was getting myself into, but this was an emotional rollercoaster all the way through. I squealed when Bel saw Lily the first time, cried not just once with Sharkie and probably scared my man more times than necessary with a maniac grin or two.
    I couldn't pick a favourite scene if I had to, simply because every single line felt precious and important on its own but together built such a beautiful and inspiring story.
    I'll probably start reading it again from the beginning now. Or cry some more.
