- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 December 2024Having watched this at the theatre many times, this does not disappoint at all! I’m incredibly excited for this to be released so I can watch it on the regular with my kids - who also absolutely loved it! The singing and dancing is incredible and I can’t wait to see what part 2 brings next year!!!

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 December 2024I was wanting to hate this movie but simply cannot fault it !! 💖
The singing , and acting was entertaining . We are shown the other side of the argument and wow …. Bring on part 2!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 November 2024Okay I'll admit it I don't like musicals. I'll watch them for the story but I hate it when they keep interupting the narative to sing some contrived show tune; and this is full of them from start to finish.
When they are not singing the charactors are over the top. It's like watching a pantomine. I expected some one to shout 'he's behind you'. Thankfully they didn't.
The story line is every cliche from other boarding school stories.
First day two new pupils draw everyone attention. One because she is attractive and knows it, but trys hard to be popular and succeeds in hiding an inner selfishness.
The other because she's different, and is she different, because she's green.
So everyone thinks she's weired and shuns her accourdinly but really deep down shes the kind one the other pretends to be. This all leads to conflict then acceptance and friendship.
In the end they go to the Emerald City and meet the Wizard and like Dorothy in the original movie they expose him as a fraud, our green friend escapes by the uses of her magic but the Wizard proclaims her an enemy of the state and an evil witch.
To be continude some time in the future.
Yes I found it camp and pantomine like and I didn't like the singing but when that 'To Be Continude' caption appeared I felt cheated. I was involved enough with the story that I wanted the conclution when Dordthy's house lands on her and kills her and what happens inbetween.
There's a reviewer who not content with reviewing the movie thinks it okay to review other reviewers.
Well for their information; I did know it was a musical before I went to see it. At first I wasn't going to see it because it was a musical. But the trailer made it look so inviting I thought I'd give it a try. I knew full well I wouldn't like the musical parts, and I addmited that in my review and I appreciate fans of musicals will love it, it as been a very successful stage show. But as a none musical film fan I have just as much right to have an oppinion as anyone else and as I said in my review I didn't like the musical aspect and the showiness that imparts, I was still invested enough in the story to want to know what happens in the next episode. Three stars is still a good score for something you wouldn't normally want to see.
