- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 June 2022For me this was Placebo’s high point. Starting with the catchy clanging chug of Pure Morning, to be followed by one of their heavier and in my mind best songs ever, Brick Shithouse. It’s quite a way to start a record.
From then in it doesn’t dip. Killer singles Every You Every Me and You Don’t Care About Us are still to come, as is the absolutely sublime title track.
Love everything about this record and always have, including the cover art. This is a band at the peak of their creative powers. If this isn’t in your life and you appreciate good alt rock or indie, you won’t regret going all in on this.
Even the “album tracks” could all have been singles. Love it.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 April 2008This is one of those albums which feels like a cohesive whole. The tracks gel into each other and jar against each other to create an uneasy feeling of a relationship that's on its last knees, with Molko realizing it is doomed and wallowing in the rejection, betrayal, longing and desire.
The songs range from very 'pop' in Placebo's unique way (the album saw 2 Top 5 UK hits) to atmospheric, dragging grating whines. They're all fantastic, and they're all different. I see it as such a classic album because of the way the separate parts hold together and play into each other. It's too difficult to describe in words, you'll just have to listen to it. Go on!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 January 2018Placebo's best album? I've been into this band since they first appeared and I could debate that in my head all day long. Long term fans might dispute this. If you're looking into an 'entry point' for Placebo, than a greatest hits that covers all eras might be your best option. But for me... yeah, it's my favourite...
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 November 2014This album contains many of the Placebo classics and is an ideal starting point for a new Placebo fan. There is something about Placebo that most of us can relate to and resonates with the Genius. The songs are powerful, euphoric, and when they are not, we all sympathise and feel the empathy of emotion that a troubled time may bring. Placebo are excellent musicians, one of the best bands out there and still going strong.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 February 2013I think this album is still 5 star, just it's my least favourite Placebo album so I couldn't give it the same rating as the others!
Buy 'Black Market Music' or 'Meds' before you buy this one.
Actually, just buy them all!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 October 2015It's still an amazing album after all these years. And now having been remastered there are sounds and vocal melody lines than were previously almost impossible to hear, now coming out in all their sonic deliciousness. There's also some extra sounds added to Burger Queen, that I am guessing having been added due to the celebratory nature of the release.
Oh and it's yellow which is pretty cool too!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 November 2015Great placebo album! This is actually an improvement on the self titled album but is not as good as Black Market Music or Sleeping With ghosts. The yellow vinyl version is great I am looking forward to the other vinyl re issues

5.0 out of 5 stars Great album without any damage
It came well packed with bubble package and the case came without any crack on it, which was great because last few times I had issues with cracked cases because bad packaging. Amazing album, Placebo at his best.

Senza dubbio il mio album preferito dei Placebo, ogni pezzo è un piccolo capolavoro, e così da quando ho preso il giradischi ho dovuto prendere anche il vinile di Without You I’m Nothing.
Buona la qualità audio, spedizione veloce e perfetta.
Immancabile nella vostra collezione di vinili.
