There are two adapters in the pack, one orientated to the left, and one to the right. Both adapters will also change the orientation from horizontal to vertical, or vice versa.
These are very useful for keeping cabling tidy on laptops and AV equipment for example. Many modern set top boxes have moved USB ports from the traditional position on the back, to the side - to cater for the smaller size form factors. A conventional USB cable connected to the side of a set top box will stick out awkwardly, wasting space and looking messy.
These adapters mean that you can feed the USB cable discreetly away behind the STB. The switch from horizontal to vertical orientation also reduces the overall bulk/width of the adapter, keeping the cable even tighter to the box.
These are quite light, but don't feel flimsy, and have a smart, brushed-metal effect finish. They are rated at USB 3.1 so should handle data transfer at up to 10Gbs (with compatible ports and cables). That is more than fast enough for my use.
I am happy with these and at the current asking price, they are decent value.
