I bought this desk to go into a new office I had created for my wife in one of our unused bedrooms.Delivery was on time and the driver helped me carry the cartons into the hallway.I was quite surprised by the weight-obviously quite a robust item.I decided to assemble the desk in the new office but unpacked it where it was and took the components through to assemble it 'on site'.I was impressed with the finish-although obviously made of MDF board,it had a wood grain appearance on the surface.As usual,the directions were pictorial but pretty easy to understand.I checked out all the bits as listed and everything seemed to be present and correct.Every bag and board was labelled which meant it was easy to find the right screw, bolt or wood panel.To follow the pictorial instructions was pretty easy although it did take some time.Everything was AOK and I found only one screw which was useless in that it had a deformed head.There is a little handy bag of spares included which is a thoughful touch.Once assembled,it took the 2 of us to put into place and we are both delighted with it-elegant,sturdy,practical and great value for money.My only criticism is that the pilot holes were quite shallow which meant some serious force needed to get the screws right down.As I have very strong wrists,this was not too much of a problem although I did suffer a blistered right palm and bruised right thumb!If you think this could be a problem,I would recommend drilling the pilot holes a little deeper with the appropriate drill.All in all,this is a very good product for the money and one your 12 year old would delight in assembling. Frankly,I don't know how they do it for the money.I've had far inferior products costing much more. I highly recommend it.
