this beautiful jar will end up as a gorgeous terrarium - hopefully - once I have all the necessary 'ingredients'; back in 2015 I put together a terrarium in a kilner jar and planted a cryptanthus inside (often commonly called earthstar because they grow high up in the canopy on trees in the jungles of South America) and didn't open it until early in 2023 by which time it had reached the top of the jar, producing dozens of 'pups' which I gave away to anyone who wanted. I have 2 lovely hot pink cryptanthus just waiting to be in a more suitable environment such as a humid, steamy, jungle ecosystem which they will create by themselves once the jar is sealed; I am very happy with this perfect jar and so excited to put it all together - anyway, as a side note, if I put biscuits inside this jar instead - well, I would end up eating them all. hahaha
