This is a great little box of tricks. I use it to play spotify through a mini hifi system that doesn't have bluetooth. Rather than paying hundreds to upgrade to a new system, I added this converter and it works a treat.

It even speak to me in a cute voice telling me "Bluetooth ready for pairing", so I know it's ready and waiting.

I'm not a great expert on sound, my hearing isn't perfect, and my environment isn't totally silent; but I do have fairly high standards and seek reasonable sound quality, and sometimes listen carefully, trying to follow a musical score. I bought the eSynic 192kHz DAC Converter (Bluetooth version) for the specific purpose of playing sounds from a laptop computer (or phone) via Bluetooth through a reasonably good, fairly old, amplifier and speakers. I'm not using the optical or coax inputs. It does what I want perfectly, with quality that I can't distinguish from a wired CD input. I have noticed no extraneous sound (hiss, hum). Sound through headphones is also excellent.

I specifically wanted a mains power supply, not a battery that I would have to charge, and that would eventually wear out. I would have liked the package to include a cable with RCA connectors at both ends, but I suppose people with 3.5mm connectors would want that option, etc.

After a year's use I have little to add, except for a couple of niggles (using only as a Bluetooth receiver, feeding an audio amplifier and speakers): I tend to leave it powered on continuously. Occasionally I find I can't connect to it until I power cycle it. And after a time I find the output level (volume) has dropped a lot, though otherwise working OK; a power cycle fixes this. I have no idea if it is my unit or the design. And of course I don't know if it will affect later models; mine is probably out of date.

Pairing straight forward, not worried about cutting off other inputs as not using them. Problem is even at full gain on the volume and the tablet/phone the source is quieter than others, even the record player... Putting that aside, sound quality is as you would expect for a mp3 or flac file or streaming but nonetheless not that bad. If I want to hear the music exactly as the artist and producers wished I will go and buy the CD.

Got it for my dad. He has a Technics amp SU-VX600 using B&W DM610 speakers from the 80's. It sounds great, my dad is very happy. Its very easy to hook up. Connect the phono cables (not included) to the DAC and the other end to the amp, connected it to the CD phono jack and plug the DAC to the mains with the plug supplied. Unfortunately there's no power switch, but cant complain cos of the price. Then search Bluetooth and you will see ESYNIC RX5.0.

If a bluetooth device is connected then that takes priority and the optical/coax input is muted.
