My elderly mother had been wanting a reading lamp. Her existing light tended to point upwards, so I found this while looking for something more appropriate.
It arrived in a large box, lined with polystyrene, which protected it from damage in transit. Very little assembly required, with just two tubes to screw together, and then on to the heavy base disc.
I had ordered some E27 LED bulbs separately, as there wasn’t one included.
Fully extended, the lamp is an ideal height for behind mum’s armchair, and there are three screws that can be loosened and tightened to direct the business end of the lamp where it needs to be.
The whole thing seems quite sturdy, and has a pleasing industrial aesthetic.
The switch is suspended on mains cable, which mum prefers over her previous lamp’s floor switch, since she won’t be accidentally standing on it. The plug is a UK 3 pin with removable fuse, which I was pleased to see. Although a legal requirement, I had feared it might be a converted European affair instead.
All in all, this product provides the service it was bought for. Reasonably priced, and safely delivered.
