I needed a smaller travel tripod but none seemed to fit my specific requirements. I wound up getting alight stand and removing the post mount and replaced it with this head.

Absolutely love it! Easy to adjust, holds perfectly, b and the quick release is so smooth. I like the added locking override just in case I'm not focused on it. Makes it slightly more secure in case it were to fall over and hit the quick release button, it won't eject my GoPro into the wild!

It's size is I ideal for travel and the minimal knobs along with the added attachment block on the front makes it versatile and sleek at the same time. Would recommend highly for the minimalist travel build.

I actually loved the way the tightening knob and quick release were designed, but they do not work well. The ball head still slips a little when tightening it all the way plus it's hard to tighten. The quick release is a good idea but there is still a little shake when the plate sits in the tripod head. If you're looking for a sturdy ball head this is not the one for you.

��غ�� Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
Since I've been happy with Neewer products in general, I decided to give this ball head a try when it showed up on ��غ�� Vine.

As usual with Neewer products, this ball head and well made and functions well, but it's a bit tough to recommend unless the proprietary clamp design is a good fit for your needs. Even though the plate it comes with will fit in other standard Arca Swiss clamps, only the proprietary plate will fit in the clamp that comes with this head. They also only include 1 plate in the package, so if you want to have the ability to swap different cameras, you'll need to buy extra plates.

The other option to deal with the proprietary clamp is to swap it out with a standard Arca Swiss clamp, but that pushes the total price of the solution up to a higher price point. The other issue here is that Neewer uses a 1/4" thread for attaching the clamp to the ball head and that rules out some otherwise excellent clamp options, such as the Sunwayfoto PC-40, though Sunwayfoto's excellent DDC-26 will work with this head.

The other potential negative with this head, depending on your specific use is the cube on the side for attaching additional items, such as microphones, may prevent you from being able to fully collapse some travel trips for the most efficient storage. I found this to be an issue with my Gitzo Traveler tripod where I couldn't fully stow the legs because the cube was in the way. The cube does appear to be removable, however, so if the functionality isn't needed, that's a potential solution.

I wasn't expecting the ball head motion to be as smooth as my expensive Markins ball heads, but I do find it to be a bit rougher than my similarly priced Sunwayfoto XB-25. This isn't really a big deal and I'm not knocking points off the rating, but it is something to be aware of.

I absolutely love the knob design with separate, nested, knobs for the panoramic base and ball locking knob. This is a really nice design that helps to keep the tripod more compact while allowing both adjustments to be made separately. The previously mentioned Sunwayfoto XB-25 just has a single knob that locks both adjustments, which is a less ideal solution as it's nice to be able to lock the ball in place and then rotate the head.

Overall, my only gripe with this head is the proprietary clamp, which can be dealt with by swapping it out with another option. Just factor in the extra cost (around $20) of that when deciding if this ball head is right for you.
