I was pleased with the Neewer Half Bowl Levelling Base. It is works and is exactly as described. I purchased this because of the folding-handle design and because it has a levelling bubble built into the base. If there is any complaint, it would be that the counter weight hook on the bottom could have been a touch bigger with a wider opening - but I still rate it "excellent" for cost + workmanship + usability.
Highly Recommend both product and seller.

I use an older Gitzo leveling base on my Gitzo legs. It works really well, locks down solidly like most Gitzo products and is easy enough to manipulate. It's only flaw is that the stem is long and there is no hook to hand a weight on it at the bottom (although the newer Gitzo leveling base does have a hook). Only once I had a problem with the handle being too long and I had to give up that shot. So I ordered this Neewer to have a short handle leveling base when I needed one. I have to say it is less robust than the Gitzo, lighter because it is made of aluminum, I think. It locks down well and solidly. The half-bowl itslef is smaller profile than what I'm used to, whcih means it doesn't tilt quite as much as I'm used to. All that means is I need to level the ;egs a bit better. I did find the level attached to the side somewhat intrusive and limiting, so I'll have to be careful to be sure it is on the hogh rather than low side of the bowl. I liked the the handle could break down and drop the tripod even further down. All in all, i would have given the bowl adapter 4.5 stars, I think it is better than a 4 and less than a 5. I think for the price, though, it is a good value so I went up to 5 stars.

I have 75mm half-bowls from Manfrotto, Schatler and Sirui. The Schatler came with the Ace XL and Flowtech legs for a really embarrassing amount of money. But it is my best tripod set. Anyways, I digress. The Manfrotto 520Ball was purchased for a Sirui AR-3204. Nice combo, but the Manfrotto half bowl is ghastly priced. I’ll jump to the Neewer now. I think I paid around $20 bucks CDN. Ridiculous. And the piece is extremely well. Like, if you can get past my criticism of it, I would not ever purchase any of the expensive makes. The problem with the Neewer is it has an extending spirit level moulded off to the side off the top plate. This makes rotating it with a limited range of movement compared to the others I have made mention of. But it still works. And, it’s probably my favorite amongst the bunch. It’s solid metal, where the others feel like either complete plastic or a mixture of metal and plastic.

If Neewer designed this with a different place for the spirit level, it would be a 5 star product all the way.

If ya need one of these, get the Neewer. Try it. If it doesn’t work for you just send it back. If it does, you’ll probably save $100-150.00 on remedying your problem and you will have a great quality item.

Seems Neewer never disappoints when they come out with a new piece of gear. This half bowl leveling base is no exception. The build quality is sturdy and professional. The foldable handle allows you to get really low for shots and the sandbag hook is a nice addition. It has a max load rating of 55 lbs, which is a lot more weight than I will ever get close to as an amateur. They consistently put out professional equipment at amateur prices. Great value
