Q: Why is the color different from stained glass when the light is turned on and off?
A: Most stained glasses differ from ordinary glass in that they do not have pure color. Usually the colours are mixed together and the paint strips in the glass are very real and natural. In addition, the stained glass has a different colour when light with different colour temperatures is filtered through the glass pane.
Q: Why does Tiffany glass feel/sound like plastic even though it is glass?
A: The lampshade is made using the copper foil technique. That's why each piece of glass is tightly wrapped with copper foil tape. Then the wrapped glass piece is welded with tin solder. This means that the glass cannot vibrate and produce noise like glass.
However, if you gently tap the lampshade with a piece of metal, such as a fork, you can feel the glass tone better. When you hold the lampshade, you will notice the temperature and weight difference between glass and plastic.

Step 1: Hand cut glass
Each glass piece is cut by hand, then the edge is polished before the copper foil is wrapped.
Step 2: Wrap copper foil
The edges of the glass pieces are wrapped with copper adhesive tape
Step 3: Glass mounting
Glass pieces of different shapes are assembled according to the pattern.
Step 4: Soldering
After the lamp has been placed appropriately and completely glued, the edges must be soldered together for a firm hold. After soldering the lamp, it is finally cleaned to show off its beauty.
