As someone who's always on the move creating content, finding lighting that's both versatile and easy to carry is crucial. That's why I was intrigued by the Godox ML60II Bi Kit1 LED Video Light with AK-B01 Battery Base. In this review, I'll share what I discovered about this light and how it helped me in my creative pursuits.

Setting Up and First Impressions:
Setting up the Godox ML60II Bi Kit1 was a piece of cake, even for a non-techie like me. The controls were simple to understand, and the manual was clear and easy to follow. I had the light ready to go in minutes, and the battery base meant I could use it anywhere without needing to be near a power socket.

Performance and Flexibility:
Right off the bat, I was impressed by how bright the ML60II Bi Kit1 was and how easily I could adjust the colour temperature to suit my needs. OLED lights have made great changes to the world of illumination because they replace incandescent lighting which by its very nature, wasted a lot of energy as heat. With OLED lights, far more of the energy is turned into light and the resulting lights are a lot smaller and lighter than their equally rated incandescent equivalents.
This unit is in the form of a kit that comprises of the light unit itself, a reflector, a metal connector that joins the light to the end of a standard lighting stand, a hand grip that you can power with some batteries that are not supplied with the kit and lastly, a power supply that plugs into the mains. All of this fits into a small case, including the two batteries that aren't supplied with the kit.
The light unit itself as well as the reflector are made from plastic as opposed to metal - the reason most likely to be that the plastic is a lot lighter than metal and if you are carrying it around with you for an extended period of time, you want it to be fairly light weight.
The battery grip supplied takes two NP-F batteries which come in a number of sizes - the ones that were used to test this are NP-F750 batteries which are rated at 41.4Wh (a total of 82.8Wh between them) although the suggestion is that you can go up to a NP-F970 which is rated in the order of 74Wh (148Wh total) although one thing to take into consideration here is that the energy density of the batteries is roughly the same so if you double the stored energy, you double the weight and if you are carrying it in your hand, the larger the battery, the sooner you are going to have to put it down. On the side of the battery holder is a small button that, when you press it, tells you the remaining charge left in each of the two batteries.
The hand grip is designed so that there is an alternative to the NP-F batteries by changing the battery holder for one that takes V-Mount batteries which hold 99Wh although neither of these are supplied with this kit but it is worth consideration if you already use V-Mount batteries.
The end of the handle of the is hollow and has a screw on the side of it so that you can mount it on a lighting stand which means that you eliminate trailing mains leads if you do that. If trailing leads are not a problem, the kit comes with a mains to 20V power supply which plugs into the bottom of the lighting unit giving you unlimited time with the unit on.
The unit itself is small and lightweight with the controls on the back and the two-coloured lamp on the front. It comes with a protective cover that slots into the receptacle for the reflector. It is locked in place with a small lever that you push back in order to release it.
The controls on the back allow you to select colour temperature anywhere from 2800K to 6500K in 100K steps and selecting the brightness which goes all of the way from 0% to 100% - the fan being off when the level is set to 0% and coming on at 1%. The fan runs very quietly - it pulls air through the heat sink, the fins of which is the main part of the volume of the body.
The lamp is claimed to give off light with a CRI of 96+ and a TLCI of 97+. OLED lights work by having a blue LED which then makes a pigment fluoresce in the orange to give the impression that the light is white. Often, you get a spectrum with a broad orange peak and a sharper peak for the blue light and this gives the impression that the light is white and as a result, anything that was bluey-green would look a lot darker than it would in a continuous spectrum such as incandescent lighting. However, the emission spectrum of the fluorescent material has improved over the years and you can see from the actual spectrum for this light cast from a diffraction grating in the photograph before it, that there are no gaps in the spectrum so colour rendition should be good as claimed.
In addition to producing steady light, there are a number of effects that you can select as well such as imitating the flashes of arc welding, fireworks or lightning. Alternatively, the colour temperature and/or brightness changes with candles, television, the sun going behind clouds and so on. Using the controls, you can change the speed that these effects change as well as the effects themselves.
This kit is easy to set up, fairly light to carry around with you and will produce just about anything that you want. My only problem with it is that the quarter Whitworth threaded hole on the underside of the lighting unit is so thin that it only has two threads on it. If this was meant to be set up and then left for literally years in a studio then that would not represent much of a problem but the idea behind this unit is that you can break it down and put it in a case then reassemble it again, time after time so having a good strong Whitworth fitting on it is really quite important.

Desde el primer momento que tienes en tus manos este foco Godox, te das cuenta de que estás ante una luz super compacta diseñada pensando en los creadores de contenido. A pesar de su cuerpo de plástico, no da la sensación de ser un producto barato.

Su diseño en forma de cubo es un avance respecto a la forma cilíndrica del ML60 original, que tenía la tendencia a rodar. Además, su esquema de colores gris y blanco le da un toque moderno y estéticamente agradable, además de seguir una tendencia bastante extendida de los últimos años.

En la parte trasera, encontramos dos diales y un interruptor de encendido. El dial de la izquierda ajusta la temperatura del color de 2800 a 6500 K en pasos de 100. El dial de la derecha ajusta el brillo en incrementos del 1%. Cuando la vuelves a encender recuerda los últimos valores.

Tiene 11 efectos especiales, un puerto de alimentación, un orificio roscado de un cuarto de pulgada y orificios para pasadores para evitar torsiones. Se incluye un adaptador de corriente y una empuñaduras de batería V-mount y NPF. Esta empuñadura tienen ademas patas desplegables y un indicador del nivel de batería. Godox hat mal wieder ein neues Licht auf den Markt gebracht und ich wollte es unbedingt testen und meinen alten SL60W damit ablösen. Nicht nur die kompakte Form, sondern auch die Akku Option reizte mich schon sehr.

Der Lieferumfang kann sich echt sehen lassen. Mit dabei ist nicht nur Licht und Reflektor, sondern auch Stativkopf Adapter und Batteriegriff für NP-F Akkus. Akkus und Softbox sind nicht dabei und müssen separat gekauft werden. Aber Achtung: Die Aufnahme für die Softbox ist kein Standard Bowens-Mount sondern ein kleiner, von Godox selbst entwickelter Mount. Das bedeutet ihr benötigt einen Adapter für eure alten Softboxen. Ich habe mir einfach einen im 3D Drucker selbst gedruckt 😊

Das AC-Kabel ist übrigens 5m Lang und das DC-Kabel mit dem Netzteil ca. 2m. Für meinen Geschmack eine perfekte Länge um überall eine passende Steckdose zu finden.

Dieses kleine Biest hat eine Leistung von 70 W und nicht 60 W wie seine Vorgänger oder wie der Name vermuten lassen würde. Diese Leistung könnt ihr in geschmeidigen 1% Schritten erhöhen und habt so die volle Kontrolle über das Licht.

Die Möglichkeit das Licht mit Akkus zu Betrieben ist gigantisch. Dazu muss man nur das Licht mit dem mitgeliefertem Batterie-Modul über einen kurzes DC-Kabel verbinden (welches übrigens echt stylisch aussieht) und zwei NP-F 970 Akkus einsetzen. Schon kann man das Licht ganz Easy auch unterwegs einsetzen und ist auf keine Steckdose angewiesen. Das Licht lässt sich aber auch mit den NPF-550 und den NP-F750 Akkus betreiben, wobei ich bei den NP-F 550 ab und zu Lichtaussetzer hatte. Von der Helligkeit waren aber alle drei Akku-Varianten gleich hell.

Wenn man die Abmessung vergleicht ist der ML60II weniger als halb so lang und fast 40% schmäler. Mit dem Griff und der Stativbefestigung wird der SL sogar noch größer und wuchtiger. Was auch direkt auffällt ist das nach hinten abstehende AC-Kabel, welches gefühlt immer im Weg ist. Beim ML60II wurde er Anschluss nach unten ausgerichtet und läuft dadurch perfekt am Stativ entlang. Mit ca. 0,5 kg wiegt der ML60II auch nur 1/3 von dem SL60, der mit 1,6 kg im Vergleich fast schon übergewichtig wirkt.

Man kann bei dem ML60II nicht nur die Lichtfarbe von 2800 K bis 6500 K einstellen, sondern auch neue Lichteffekte wie z.B. Gewitter, Kerzenlicht etc. nutzen.

Das Lüftergeräusch ist nur minimal lauter als beim SL60 (35 zu 33 dBa bei 1m Entfernung) und die Frequenz ist doppelt so laut (was etwas mehr auffällt). Stört aber überhaupt nicht. Schade ist nur, dass der Lüfter immer an ist, selbst bei 1% Leistung.

Fazit: Super Licht, dass mit kompakten Abmessungen, Lieferumfang, Akku-Funktion und Verarbeitungsqualität punktet. Nur der neue Mount für die Softboxen hat mich etwas genervt, aber zum Glück gibt es hier Adapter

Ma non si connette con i modificatori ad attacco bowens, e non si riesce a trovare un adattatore.
A parte questo è ottimo, leggeto e compatto, con la sua app su smartphone si controlla bene, la valigetta è molto robusta e ha spazio per tutto.
