The controller has a nice, solid feel, a built in rechargeable battery and high quality buttons and Hall effect sticks and triggers, for better accuracy, tighter deadzones and greater durability.

Colours look sharp, the 2.4 ghz receiver offers 1000Hz polling for near latency free wireless control, and if that's still not good enough, you can connect via the included usb type A-C cable. and for other devices, the included bluetooth makes it incredibly versatile.

Only small complaint, and it's not really 8bitdo's fault - Is that the controller doesn't support Xbox. It's still an incredible controller for the cost, but if it had that, it would be absolutely unassailable on all fronts.

I bought this controller as a cheap alternative to the Xbox controller, and I've not gone back to an Xbox controller since I've bought this three months ago. I've broken the rb on every type of Xbox controller since the 360, and honestly I still like them all, but the 8bitdo hasn't broken and I'm really pleased with the build quality.

Works with emulators RetroArch, XeniaCanary and Xemu without any messing, and PCSX2 after setting it up.

Got this controller to go with my Steam Deck living room setup - the 2.4ghz adapter is fully compatible and works out of the box.

I've been having issues with Bluetooth signal strength and latency recently so decided to get a controller with 2.4ghz support, the difference is night and day in responsiveness.

The sticks are hall effect so you're able to turn the deadzones all the way down for maximum responsiveness. The buttons and triggers feel pretty standard which is a good thing, no cheap hori style wobbly buttons and short throw triggers here.

The only downside to this controller is no gyro - bummer for certain types of games (Looking at you Quantic Dream) but for 90% of games this is no issue since standard Xbox controllers also lack gyro support.

Colour is nice, but maybe more options would be appreciated, I'd like a white one to match my desk setup.

As the craze carries forth from Linus Tech Tips and various Reddit threads about third party controllers, this definitely is worth the buzz.

The only two things that made me put it as a backup over the still better Xbox One controller is the more PS4 like controller shape that isn't as comfortable and natural posing as the Xbox One. Its also definitely down to muscle memory so you can definitely get used to the 8Bitdo.

Bigger one is lack of Bluetooth support for Windows. Yes I know there's Dinput support but I mean might as well go forth with Xinput.

But hey, for the price of a wireless controller, great value.

For the price this controller can’t be beat.
The shape is different from the normal xbox controller. The angle of grip is slightly narrower, for some this is good for some this is really uncomfortable, for me i’d say it’s the same just a slight adjustment. (might aswell buy and then return if it’s not for you). i’d say women or people with smaller hands might find this more comfortable than a normal Xbox controller.

When i first unboxed the controller the right trigger was in a weird state where it was only off or on at 50% of the way. i unplugged it and reconnected it and this fixed, so maybe some weird one off but.

The software could be better, but the hope is you don’t need it.

D-Pad is slightly squishier than on a normal xbox controller, but it’s not unstable so not really a problem.

ABXY buttons are less linear than normal xbox controller, they feel more like a membrane key where they hit a force threshold and collapse, but they still feel responsive. Sometimes it’s easy to not lift the button back up the whole way when double pressing it for a very quick action which means the button only triggers once, but this feels more like my fault than the controllers.

I have dropped the controller once or twice now and it hasn’t fallen apart.

My only worry is that the sticks in idle sit very very slightly off angle, obviously games and menus deadzone this, but my worry is that i’ve not found a way to re-calibrate the sticks, which is the main point of having hall effect sticks. Maybe this is done automatically, either way this should be communicated.

Would highly recommend, we bought 3 so my family could all game together. Connectivity is great
  • Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 November 2024
I bought this hoping it would solve my issue with carrying an old Xbox one controller with me but I'm sad to say that the useability of the controller makes it difficult to live with especially with games not on steam that don't already recognise this controller as a 3rd part Xbox controller.

The lack of software button mapping is annoying and hindering. The Bluetooth function ends up turning the triggers into switches rather than potentiometers which means you need to carry that dongle with you all the time just to have the triggers work correctly.

Lastly, there is no Xbox support so don't try to use it with Xbox one/series consoles either.

I sent mine back as I was really disappointed.

The analogue sticks feel good at least and ergonomics are good too, if you want something that acts like an Xbox one/series controller for steam and xboxpc then this is fine. It's just not for me.

Good quality, performance, reflections. it is not similar to a Xbox controller. Buttons are the same sure but not heavy, clicky, straight? People can love this, ı did too. This controller is light, silent, cheap;). For the price 99% percent worth it, ı guess... I liked Xbox more, can't say didn't like this. Good.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best controller available for PC
Reviewed in Spain on 12 December 2024
I'm extremely satisfied with the ones I got; they feel very high quality, yet they aren't heavy or bulky. Perfect for small to medium sized hands and they will feel familiar to anyone who used an Xbox controller before.

Connectivity is simple using both the included dongle or Bluetooth, the battery lasts for an incredibly long time, and they charge fast and using USB-C. The thumb sticks are extremely precise and have basically no deadzone and no drift. The triggers have a shorter throw than I would prefer but they feel very nice as well. The rest of the buttons have a very snappy and satisfying feeling. I can't evaluate the d-pad as I don't play many games that are heavily focused on it. The vibration motors are also very tight feeling and strong.

As for negatives, I don't have much to say, and especially not any that would offset the positives. That's not even considering the aggressive pricing compared to other controllers. I'm very satisfied and already pondering buying yet a few more. If I had to point out something negative it would be how poorly communicated the extra features are. There's basically no documentation included either in the box or on the website itself. In fact, a few features from older models (like 0 deadzone setting) are present but you wouldn't know unless you actually looked online for how to activate them. The software could be more comprehensive.

5.0 out of 5 stars 8BitDo makes good stuff!
Reviewed in the United Arab Emirates on 15 November 2024
First of all, I need to clarify that I mostly play Retro games. I've been testing the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C for about two days. I have to say, I'm impressed! I wasn't initially sold on it being primarily wireless, but having tried it in multiple games, and the lag is almost non-existent.

The buttons have zero wobble, and that D-pad is a delight; you can feel the click, but it's not too noisy, as it was with my previous controller. That said, if you're planning to use this controller for fighting games, you might want to look for something else.

Excellent controller, overall. That wireless USB adaptor looks cute, and the purple version of the Ultimate 2C looks pretty!

    5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastisches Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis
Reviewed in Germany on 26 October 2024
