This Smallrig SSD clamp appears to be made out of steel, as a result it’s quite heavy weighing 4.5 ounces on my kitchen scales.
The clamp comprises the clamp itself, a small self adhesive metal ring and a detachable cold shoe mount. The fit and finish of the components is excellent and very well thought out. The clamp features a compression gate to secure a USB C cable to the SSD which works well.
The only criticisms I have are the weight and the black paint finish which chips off all too easily. However, from a utilitarian aspect there really isn’t anything else that compares. Recommended! 👍
