These are "air conduction" earbuds, which is a fancy way of saying it's a small speaker driver pointed directly at your ears. They clip around the backs of your ears, so they're quite comfortable to use when running. Because they're open earbuds/mini-speakers, they don't actually go into your earlobes, which is handy for me, cos my Sony WF-1000XM5's always had trouble staying in while running (not to mention it's a bit risky having ANC on when you're out jogging). No such probs with these, as there's obviously no ANC.
Now, in terms of audio, these aren't going to be used for audiophile purposes. I understand this, and tempered my expectations accordingly. Still, the bass response is surprisingly decent on these. It's quite a large driver, so it can pump out a pretty decent low-end, even if overall volume isn't the greatest. I don't bother EQ'ing too much in the app with stuff like this, because they're not reference headphones, nor am I mixing/mastering music on them. They're purely to keep my ears/brain occupied while sweating buckets outside in the cold! In this respect, they do the job I wanted.
Charging is via USB-C, and you get about 8 hours with the in-built earbud batteries, and about 3x more when using the case. More than enough for me.
They're a little expensive for what they are, but there is a voucher, which gets it closer to the £50 price-point I think they should be. Again, as long as you understand exactly what these are designed for, they'll be great. Way cheaper than Bose's offerings, for similar performance, so in this respect, they're a win for me.
