This is a lovely oil to use, and it's presented so nicely, especially for the price (£8.99 at time of order). I do completely agree with another reviewer though that the lips and the 'Date night' cheapen the look, but they also stop me leaving this out, which I might otherwise do as it's a nice looking bottle. I don't want my kids to see that when they wander in to our room, it's just a bit tacky.

The oil itself though is lovely. The smell is just right, not too strong, and it's not chemically in scent either, it smells quite natural. It feels very nice to use and to have used on you, it's a good consistency, and most importantly it gives a decent slip for your hands.

We've never tried a citrus fruit based massage oil before, previously it has always been things like passionfruit, redberries including strawberry and my all time favourite Coconut. Technically this should be off putting, the thought of getting this in your eye or any previously unknown cut sends shivers down your spin and wincing at the thought, however there doesn't appear to be any of that no burn no zingy or stingy.

Instead what you get is a gloriously warming massage oil with strong scents of lemons and oranges, perfect whilst its cold outside you can easily drift away inside back to those warmer months with this deeply scented oil. The smell also refreshes the room which is an added bonus.

I would definitely recommend this.

This massage oil comes nicely packaged in a box, with tissue paper and an organza bag. They’ve made effort to set this up as a luxury massage oil. And you know what? It’s a really nice massage oil.

It feels nice on the hand, and as the person who generally does the massaging rather than being the recipient, it feels really nice. I have very warm hands and I’m told that this heat carries nicely through the oil.

The smell of citrus is a nice level, strong enough to be evocative but not so strong it overpowers or feels fake. The balance, for me atleast, is about right.

It could almost be a really nice present, but it’s those awful lipstick kiss lips on the branding that cheapen it and make it feel more like something I might buy from Ann Summers (Do they still exist?). Just makes it a little bit tacky. When you’ve gone to all that effort on the rest of the packaging it’s shame to then add that on, the name Date Night also not that great and the two together would have put me off buying this.

I can’t quibble on price, honestly for the quality of the rest of it, I’d expect to pay more than £8.99. I got this as part of the vine programme so didn’t pay for my bottle, but honestly if the lips were taken off I’d expect to pay £12.99 and if the name were something that felt more luxury than Date Night, I’d add another £3 to that. Other brands sell worse massage oil for a lot more than this one.
