Whoever you are, you are not prepared for just how bright the LED's are on this controller, it's insanity, luckily they turn off easily and the controller saves the led state even when you unplug it so you can turn it on for fun but you don't have to turn it off every time you want to game.

All the buttons, joysticks and bumpers feel great (lime all 8bitdo controllers I've used) and the whole controller is very solid with no flex, loose buttons or side motion on the triggers.

I game it was very responsove just as good as my series 2 x elite controller.

Its only a little bit smaller but it feels waaay smaller in your hands. I would only get this if you have smaller hands, hate heavy controllers or for kids since it's also very affordable for this level of quality. Otherwise I would stick with their regular sized ultimate controller.

This Mini version of the now fairly common 8Bitdo "Ultimate" style controller is reported to be an 80% scale of the original so it should be better for children or people with smaller hands. Everything is fairly similar to the regular Ultimate C, just stuffed in a bit smaller shell. In the photos I compare it to a standard Xbox One gamepad and though the gamepad itself is smaller the controls themselves seem to be normal size. I have medium sized hands and can use it fine, but it does get to be a little cramped after longer sessions.

It is notably lighter than a Xbox One gamepad as well, with the mini corded coming in at about 190g minus the cable, and the Xbox One pad being 290g with the batteries. That being said the lighter weight does not mean it feels cheap: the entire gamepad has a very solid build to it with good textures and all controls are smooth. This version has the slight upgrades to the dpad and shoulder buttons to have the more tactile feel. None of the buttons are too loud though, and the dpad feels great, though it is fairly easy to register sideways motion while rocking the up or down buttons to the left or right. This could be an issue for some.

There are lights built into the stick rings and they are super bright. When I use them I often dim them down or disable them completely. Options for the lights include only a few colours (5 presets), a spinning animation as well as a reactive mode which lights or dims segments of the ring dependent on which button is pressed. There's also a breathing light effect when the gamepad has been sitting idle, as far as I know there's no setting to adjust this other than turning the lights off.

An odd glitch on mine is that on the final setting of the reactive light mode if I change the brightness once I can no longer adjust the brightness again and it defaults to dim, but ONLY on that specific setting, all others are unaffected. Resetting the controller brings it back, so I imagine this will be patched in the future.

This is USB only and the included cable is about 8 feet long. Polling rate seems to run under 250Hz based on my quick test. Given how this is an Xbox Licensed controller not only will it work with Xbox but it includes a voucher for one month of Game Pass Ultimate. Its simply plug and play but don't forget to push the Xbox logo to turn it on after plugging it in, I did.

I played for several hours on a very difficult skill-based game, this controller proves to have no misfiring and random drifting issues, and it's been reliable. The LED lights can be adjusted as needed, using the star key combined with the dpad.
It is a great wired controller, especially for those with small hands.

Love this controller. So as someone with both an energy limiting medical issue, and somewhat small hands...this checks both boxes for what I need in a controller. The plugged in controllers are all lighter as you dont have the heavy battery pack in the controller...thus saving lots of weight in your hands...and making playing so much easier. One worry I had was what if the cord is not long enough....but no issues with that for me. The cord is quite long, probably around 10 feet, so easily makes it accross my living room, where I normally sit. (with even some to spare.) You can also add a USB extension I think if you need more than 10 feet as well. But long cord eliminates most issues with needing a cord.

I already had a somewhat smaller and lighter controller, which is a little lighter than this one. But this one is smaller and a little more compact. So I found playing with this one felt easier and more intuitive in my hands. And not only that...but it has some awesome looking lights that light up as soon as you turn it on...and in tandem with how you play. As well as rumbling. My other lightwieght controller is pretty plain and doesnt have the lights so it definitely adds something to the 8bit as well.

Overall: I like both the 8-bit and my other lightweight controller. But if you have small hands this one is even smaller, so likely the best controller for small hands on the market. Not to mention it is much lighter than a normal controller, and the awesome light + rumble features...its a great choice...and just awesome overall. Extremely happy with my 8bit.
