  Haven't used the product yet (Christmas present), but just checked the XR battery also fitted the the 'torch' that I bought as a separate item, and it does which is great. I am only a DIY person so having the two batteries, one for the drill and one for the torch is great!!! It comes in a handy case that takes the small case of screw bits as well which makes carrying around very neat! I have no worries about the product itself because its reputation precedes it! I am 64 years old and I am hoping this is the last kit I am ever having to buy!
