  I bought this scanner for scanning loads of my aunties old 35mm slides (Kodachrome I think). Some of the slides were from the 1950's which were in pretty bad shape, but this coupled with photoshop elements 6 for editing, which comes free with the scanner, worked a treat. When it's set to max resolution it can take a millenium to scan, but if you lower the resolution, it's pretty quick and still produces excellent scans. Auto scan with the digital ice thingy is very quick and works brilliantly. It can scan 4 slides at a time, which you insert into a tray and then lines up against the side very easily. All in all, a good quality scanner which is easy to set up and use, but most importantly doesn't take forever (unless you set it to max or near max resolution) to do a job. The free photoshop is a bonus.
