This dash cam works very well, picture quality is excellent and the app is quick and easy to use. Build quality is not the best but once set up it should be set and forget so not a real problem. There are however a few issues.

First the good stuff, very happy with image quality and interacting with the camera through the app is surprisingly easy. The Okcar app does look a bit basic but it is functional and very quick compared to my previous Garmin. All camera settings are done through the app and it is easy to control and set up to your preferences. Viewing recorded videos and live viewing is also very easy thanks to the speedy Wi-Fi, which also makes downloading to your phone relatively quick as well. On my previous cam it was easier just to take out the card and plug it into the computer but this is quick enough to do over Wi-Fi.

Minor niggles - the camera tells you what it is doing, power on, start/stop recording etc, but the voice used is a poor quality 12 year old Chinese girl, not great, this feature can be turned off in the app if it gets too annoying. It does apparently have voice control but am yet to get it to work. I was looking forward to the ability to have the time or speed on the rear display, which you can do, but it is very, very bright and really distracting right next to your rear view mirror, there is no way to adjust the brightness so this feature has to be tuned off, which is a shame because it could’ve been useful The design of the mount could also be better, the camera can be detached from the mount but despite cleaning with alcohol mine is already coming unstuck, it also needs very careful positioning because although it can be adjusted vertically, there is no horizontal adjustment, so you need to use the live view on your phone to make sure you’ve got it pointing exactly where you want it before you stick it in place.

I am unable to use the rear camera at all, it does work very well but even without power it gave massive interference to my radio signal because the antenna is built into the rear screen, and it made my rear speakers crackle loudly even when the stereo was turned off, so it must also have been interfering with the the factory fitted amplifier in the boot. When I removed the camera from the rear screen the problem disappeared. I did email Llwey about the issue, not expecting to hear anything but they replied the next day and said they would send me two copper rings which should stop the interference, they turned up today and are two small blocks that clamp over the power wire. They also sent me a complete new rear camera, which was again unexpected, but customer service and support gets five stars. Not tried the fix yet but will get around to it.
