  Plastic! Not sturdy enough for the job it is supposed to do.
  The main reason for buying this item, was to stop the continuous bending to take of my boots/shoes.
  I have more stress now than ever, trying to keep the item stable on the floor, so it requires more bending
  Do not recommend this item for people suffering with lower back conditions.
