There were multiple brands of vegan DHA/EPA to choose from that were hard to distinguish, so it came down to the dose per softgell and the cost. I chose these because they appeared to have an enormous dose of vegan omega-3 - 1100 mg, it said. They would need to be large softgells, I thought, and the picture appeared to show large capsules. But when they arrived, the capsules were much smaller and I found that you needed to take 4 softgells to get the 1100 mg. So actually, each capsule contains just 275 mg of omega-3, or just 150 mg of DHA and a crappy 75mg of EPA. I so dislike the slippery, tricky and in truth, dishonest marketing tactics of companies: I wish there were a law that stipulated companies had to express dosages per pill, because given that data and the number of pills we are able to compare like with like. Having said all this the product seems OK except the fact that the bottle is transparent thus leaving the delicate long chain fatty acids to the mercy of the light from the sun or elsewhere. Must therefore be stored in a dark place otherwise they will quickly go rancid.
