I bought this to replace a 15 year old breadmaker that was in regular use (and still working..) First loaf we tried was a brioche - followed the recipe and instructions and it worked perfectly. Never made an enriched dough in a breadmaker before but it was really really good. Second up was a recipe I've been using for about 6 months for a wholemeal loaf - again perfect. The pan in my previous machine wasn't quite as non sticky as it had been so to swap to a new machine was great as the loaf comes straight out of the pan - also the kneading blade is a lot slimmer so it leaves less of a hole in the bottom of the loaf.. then I tried the sourdough out - you make a starter in the machine which takes 24 hours - I've made sourdough starter before by traditional methods but this was super easy and produced a great bubbly starter. The first sourdough loaf was really nice so I made another - which was a lot sourer - fine for me but too sour for the Mrs. We then switched onto the white bread recipe from the book and it worked fine - lovely loaf maybe a little close textured but ok. I swapped onto the white bread recipe I've been using for years with the breadmaker on standard crust settings - better texture but overbaked - the crust was extremely crusty.. so we'll select less well done next time... Very pleased with the machine - the manual is a little disjointed as the instructions for making specific bread is in one place and the quantities are a few pages later.
