  After checking around I read it was worth spending a bit extra on ladders that wouldn't flex under full extension and which were of strong construction. Shelled out for the trade version rather than the domestic and it was well worth it. Not too heavy to lug about but they are big and chunky. Easy to extend and retract with solid locks and useful catches too. Have been up to the very top of the 3rd tier and little or no flex which is amazing. The tread on the rungs is good, but wouldn't use when wet just in case. Overall an excellent pair of ladders, have used them for a flat roof renewal, bay roof repair and guttering jobs and well suited for purpose.
