I bought this latest version of Sony's shower radio to replace the previous ICF S79w, which I loved, but had one major flaw. In fact I had two of the original, one in the bathroom and one in the kitchen. Both performed well until their feeble antennae leads broke.
The leads would get caught in something and when the radio was moved, the lead would be tugged and broken. The gauge of the lead was so pathetic, that damage was inevitable. I've managed to repair one, but the other is unrepairable.
The new model is performing really well and the antenna looks a thicker gauge and more robust. In fact, the reception seems better.
The radio is smaller, simpler in its functions and hopefully set to last longer than the previous model.
