I should have gone straight for an ARC (HDMI output) converter for my needs. But this was cheaper, so gave it a try first, as I wasn't sure either would work...

But this isn't fit for use to bridge from a new TV, with only digital outputs, to an old analogue stereo.

    (1) TVs don't tend to have AptX bluetooth, so there's an audio delay that makes the lip sync look bad. This delay could be compensated in my TV settings, but then it shifted over time, looking very wrong again.

    (2) The converted powers down after TV is turned off, with no Bluetooth device connected for some time. So whether you power this dongle from the TV's USB ports, or a separate power plug, you will need to manually press the big button on this adapter to re-connect to the TV. Too much hassle.

This product would probably be good purely for playing music from a phone to an old stereo or in-care system (with only an analogue input). I've no idea of battery life, could be good.
