  I have put these in various darker areas of our old cottage and in some outbuildings which don't have electricity. The batteries should last well, as I only use the lights for a short time, when needed. Very easy to switch on and off with a gentle tug. Light is sufficient, not hugely bright, but I can imagine that if grouped together they would illuminate well and look decorative.
