  The lamp is easy to assemble. Once assembled it is not truly collapsible as there are no hinges in the middle assembly. But this isn't a problem unless you are going to store the lamp away in a cupboard. It is height adjustable and very stable. Have shopped around and found this to be the best priced lamp that looks as good as this. Hence the 5 stars.
