In an effort to beat escalating electricity costs I purchased this gas appliance. It arrived adequately packaged and in excellent condition. The included instructions for use were concise and easily followed. A quick look at the parts list confirmed that everything purchased was delivered. Fitting a rubber hose to the stove was made easy by first warming the end of the hose in a cup of hot water. The rubber became a little more pliable and allowed it to be pushed easily onto the stove connection - not forgetting to firstly place a 'Jubilee clip' over the hose in order to make a secure connection afterwards. The singular control knob had to be pushed inward and then turned anti-clockwise for a short distance. Instantly, a spark sound was heard and the gas ignited. Within a second or two of the gas igniting both inner (small) and outer (large) gas rings ignited. I then continued to turn the knob anti-clockwise until the gas flames reduced and ultimately the large gas ring extinguished leaving the small gas ring burning. This choice of a small gas ring or both burning together allowed for different types of cooking. Reversal of the procedure will of course turn off the gas supply. The body of the stove is made from stainless steel and is easily cleaned with a damp cloth after every cooking session. Two loose items provided are placed on to the stove and surround the gas rings. They are used to support pans or a kettle. The smaller of the two is chrome plated and unfortunately became discoloured with use but continues to do its job. All in all I found this appliance to be an asset to my kitchen. And already I have seen a saving in my monthly utility bills. Gas-bottle cooking is far cheaper than electricity and I smile as the electricity tariff continues to rise.
