  I bought this to protect my stairs and landing carpet for a bathroom refit in October weather. It's been brilliant, well worth the money. I left it down for 2 weeks and 2 days (over the recommended time of 2 weeks) and it came up fine. For laying on stairs I recommend making sure it is well tucked into the back of each step, I didn't do this and found mine lifted out a bit. It would be best to do this by using something like a rolling pin to push it back. Laying it was a bit tricky as like cling film it sticks together but I soon got the hand of it. At the edges of the rooms it also had a tendency to lift slightly. For hoovering it I found it best to use a soft brush attachment. Wish I had laid some in my living room too as there is mud on my carpet there!
