The product works okay with its PIR implementation, but as with all PIR its range is limited to 30ft or so. Its so-called digital detection by using changing pixels and thereby recognising people, vehicles, animals at greater distances is simply not fit for purpose and needs a lot of development work. As it stands it either need a lots of work on the software or a hardware upgrade, as presently it's not worth the money.
Update: Recently I have physically moved the camera so that it points at a slightly different angle and this has resulted in very significant improvement. Previously, the camera was only picking up movement via the PIR at a range of about 30ft. After changing the angle that the camera points to, it now activates recordings from movement up to about 200 yards away. This can only be achieved I presume through pixel change recognition, something that clearly wasn't occurring previously. I am now very pleased with the results I am getting, although I fail to see the actual reason why the angle should make that much difference. Previously, the centre of the image was pointed at a gate through which vehicles entered, now the gate is positioned on the right hand side of the camera image. I now increase my star rating to 4.
