I have a 5-ring induction hob and wanted a low power 3-pin plug back-up hob in case of a power cut that can be powered by house batteries (or even a BEV that has V2L). The induction hob works perfectly fine considering it is rated at only 2kW. The power setting adjustments are in quite high steps, the beeps are very loud and the fan is a little noisy but other than that it’s a good single hob.
Reading some of the negative views made me carefully think about purchasing this hob. However, it became obvious that one must be very wary of some of these negative 1-star reviews since there is a clear misunderstanding on how an induction hob works.
    (1) The hob doesn’t heat itself up (a magnetic field causes the pan to heat directly and the eventual hot pan conducts heat back to the hob surface), so no pan = no heat.
    (2) Placing a non-magnetic pan on it such as a common aluminium pan without a magnetic insert within the base will not work. If a magnet doesn’t adhere to the base of the pan, the pan is not suitable for an induction hob.
If one can see error code E0 then it is a user error and not a hob error. A displayed error code E0 is that there is no pan or unsuitable pan on the hob, as clearly stated in the manual.
I don’t work for the manufacturer, just exasperated that any ignorance of induction technology could lead to a misinformed purchase decision.
