  Bought this for elderly Mum, who wanted a traditional face not digital, and it's great. Large, easy to see face and the automatic night light which comes on when the light in the room is reduced is brilliant. You can reduce how bright the light is so it's not intrusive in the dark, but Mum can still see the time if she wakes. It is totally silent too, so no annoying tick.
  
  The casing is just cheap plastic, but then all clocks at this price are cheap plastic!
  
  Highly recommend this clock.
