  I guess it's my own fault for not scrolling down the description and checking properly. I did use a tape measure but didn't take into account that the dimensions given were for the overall size including handles and maybe opened out legs. The item is much smaller than I expected. I won't send it back as I can't go out and it isn't worth the hassle, but I have to agree with others who complain how small it is. But it didn't arrive broken, seems sturdy enough, and arrived a day earlier than eta, hence the generous 3 stars. However I wanted it primarily to use my laptop in bed while taking the weight off my legs and it isn't wide enough. It will do for now. But buyers beware - it's very small.
