- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 November 2024Normally I love UGREEN products, having purchased many over the years. I also have their 10Gbps version of this caddie. But this time, the product falls below their usually standards.
Does it meet what you’d expect speed wise? Yes, I’m getting close to the rated standard.
Does it cool the drive well and make contact with the included thermal pad? Yes, I believe so once the lid is screwed on.
How’s that rubbed shield, would it protect the drive in a fall? Most definitely.
So why the 2 stars?
The included cable does not sit recessed into the port well enough and the drive will frequently disconnect if you even look at it the wrong way.
But have you tried a different cable?
Yes, although I should not have to. I tried another USB-C cable for data and there is marginal improvements, there’s no nice click you’d hope for from inserting in the cable. The improvements are marginal with a different cable, if I touch the cable, the drive will disconnect from Windows.
I can’t recommend this product.
