My orchids were way overdue repotting, but within a week I have a new flower spike appearing and roots have new lease of life put into them. Much better than bark alone, which is what I've bought previously. Easy to get into nooks and crannies with a chop stick and water still drains through when watering. Had enough to repot all 4 of my orchids so can't comment on how long you can store, but with the seal should last a while.
