  This is a good gadget, easy to use and giving results which are fair for the price - not good enough quality for a 'serious' photographer, perhaps, but just the job for giving a new lease of life to almost-forgotten holiday slides. But there seems to be a basic quality control problem, hence my 2-star rating. On the first one I got, the all-important On/Off/Menu button turned the screen on but the menu wouldn't open, making it unusable. I returned it (thanks, ÍøÆغÚÁÏ!) and ordered another. On the second one, the button worked well the first time I turned it on, but the next time it did nothing - I could see a light inside through the side slit, but the screen was dead. Nothing I could do would revive it, so back that one went for another refund, and I ordered a third. This one also refused to turn the screen on at first, but I persisted with my button-pressing and, hooray, after about 20 jabs it came to life and now seems happy to work whenever I ask it to. But it really should be easier than this!
