  I’ve tested with a few types of Radio and different headsets with different results.
  The PTT action is the unpredictable bit as most phone headsets are press once to call and again to drop.
  So, using my iPhone earbuds press once puts the radio into Tx another press releases.
  This can get confusing if the PTT got pressed on the radio by accident it kept the radio Txing until I pressed the Heaset button to drop carrier.
  Works with the VOX enabled on the HT’s I tested.
  It’s been a handy accessory and enabled me to use my Kenwood D74 with my Beats wired Headphones.
  Overall whilst a bit quirky it is a handy adapter and I carry it in my gadget bag everywhere now.
