The true size is really the length of the tubes which is about 15cm. The overwhelming majority of the rest of the 85cm is a string leading down to a metal disk which is not visible in the photograph of the product. This string could easily be 2 metres in length. Would they then boast a dimension of 2.85m? I was always taught that to UNDER promise and OVER deliver was the way to earn praise. These vendors were obbiously not taught this since they choose to massively raise expectations only to surely smash them to smitherines when the item arrives. I was expecting a long flat box of circa 60cm in length (being, I wrongly thought, the very least the (long?) tubes would require). Instead I get the smallest box imaginable posted through my letterbox which was no more than 8 inches in total length. I gave two stars because it was well made. HOWEVER IT TOOK ME OVER TWO HOURS TO UNTANGLE EVERYTHING. ALL THE BELLS AND TUBES ETC ARE TIED TO THE TOP PIECE OF WOOD WITH THIN BLACK STRING. THIS WAS TOTALLY TANGLED AND KNOTTED TO SUCH AN EXTENT THAT I BELIEVE IT WAS DONE ON PURPOSE FOR SOME UNGODLY REASON. So bad was it that I almost returned it rather than untangle it - but I simple cannot resist a challange and I persevered.
I have kept it now it is untangled AND as it does make a lovely chiming noise. But to anyone believing they are going to get something substantial, BE WARNED, you will be sorely disappointed at the toy you will receive.
The attached photo is of the entire item with the dangling medallion at the bottom (from which the rather misleading 85cm dimension is no doubt derived?). I include my hand to put the size of this tiny wind chime into perspective.
