  I bought this as we had recently opened up our fireplace and were worried about logs spitting sparks onto the carpet. It was very reasonably priced and I did have some reservations that it would not be that good given that you can pay hundreds for similar items. However, it arrived pre assembled and when stood infront of the fire, almost became invisible as we have a black fire surround. Its the right width and height for the job and I assume it would be for 95% of all domestic open fires. Since we got it, I have had to twist the knobs above the hinges a half turn to tighten them but it takes seconds and is not a reason not to buy. All in all, I am very satisfied with this fire guard and would recommend it to others looking for a no nonsense fireguard.
