Where to start when describing this? Well, the word 'hamper' is a good place. The very word conjures up an image of something large and jam-packed with a wealth of goodies; what you get with this is something smaller than a shoebox filled with fake straw and eleven microscopic packs of biscuits which would in fact barely fill an empty baked bean tin.
The biscuits themselves (which weigh in at an astonishing £1 each) are not much larger than a fifty-pence piece! Whilst the packaging is reminiscent of those free biscuits provided with a brew at a cheap hotel.
I bought these for my wife, who is coeliac, for her to take into hospital for a four-week stay in the new year - the idea being that such a hamper would see her through such time. How I now reflect with wonder at her blind optimism.
