- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 August 2020Did a fair amount of research and this one seemed about the best with regards to good reviews, price etc. Product arrived in good time, well packaged and looked new and shiny. Was actually looking forward to the muggy summer nights to try it out properly.
Unit cools the room down quickly and was working well but then I get a P1 error code. It means the drip tray is full and you have to empty to use the "cool" mode. I would empty the tray, which isn't too easy as it means lifting the 25kg unit off the ground onto something to drain out the bottom. After which it would fill up again after 20-40 mins. I have had Air Con units before and never had this issue so wasn't too hopeful. It constantly will fill up with water no matter what temperature it was set on, even when the temperature was set at 28 degrees cooling, which was higher than outside, I tried all sorts of things for weeks. My thought is the compressor is faulty, but i'm no expert.
This is where it gets annoying. Inventor Appliances are based in Greece and sell only via ÍøÆغÚÁÏ. I took out the 2 year warranty (Which is free), you just have to register it on their website. But it takes them absolutely ages to reply and their solutions are useless. It took 24 days after a few emails going back and forth just to get to the model number of my unit, and that it isn't very effective when it's too hot...?, surely that's the idea of an Air Con unit?
ÍøÆغÚÁÏ have been really good, accepting the unit back for a full refund and even paying the £65 return postage (Does help to be a customer for 15 years and also prime member). But it has been weeks of agro to get this sorted.
I think I've been unlucky as a lot of people have raved about this unit but if you do get a dodgy one expect plenty of agro to get it all sorted. Next year i'll go to Curry's or Screwfix or something to get one. Probably pay £40 more but at least you actually have somewhere you can take it if you get problems.
