The candyfloss maker we received works, following the instructions carefully, although it takes a lot longer than 5 minutes to heat up enough for the candyfloss to be created (maybe 8 or 9 minutes).
However, the bowl and base are both plastic and the way they clip together is not secure enough. As the plastic warms up I guess it expands slightly because by the time we are making the second or third portion the bowl no longer fits into the groove and it begins to rattle around the base- at one point my daughter said it fell down and sent sugar flying. Operating the device is now a 2-person job with one to make the candyfloss and another to hold the bowl in position.
I contacted the supplier via their website but have received no response so far.
I think we will keep the machine and possibly gaffa-tape the bowl on each time we use it, but with hindsight I wish I'd paid a little more for a better-known brand.
