- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 December 2024This is one of those chocolate bars that you really do need to enjoy the main flavour profile as it absolutely does dominate. This is essentially ground up pistachio nuts in to a fine paste and then encased in milk chocolate. The bar is thick, really thick but the chocolate is rather thin. Probably too thin as trying to snap off a chunk (and that's really all you need in one sitting) is impossible.
The pistachio flavour comes through strong, and along with it you get that almost oil flavour from when you've eaten a large handful of them. The green filling itself is a strange contrast of being both a smooth texture, but also has small amounts of nuts in them still, at the same time looks like it's going to be gooey. Visually it's not going to be for everyone, but if you can get past that the taste is very good indeed.
For someone who can't chew nuts anymore, such as elderly, this would be a very welcome treat as they can still benefit from both the flavour and some of the texture of nuts without having to chew it, as well as the chocolate coating, making it an all around delight.
The presentation of the bar inside the fancy box it comes in could do with a little extra effort, it looks like it's leaked and if you weren't aware of what it was, upon cracking it open you might think it'd had gone bad or something.
Overall though, a fantastic pistachio based chocolate bar.
