What you want to know: Looks great and quality is decent. The diffuser is a laminated plastic that looks like wood. Its a matte finish however not textured like some laminate things. Makes it a bit easier to clean though. The clear plastic diamonds that light up get a bit dusty however and can be awkward to clean. The diffuser makes little noise, it's not silent, however it's totally fine if you're watching TV or whatever. The motor for the fan makes a quiet noise, whilst the rest comes from the steam cooling on the inside falling back into the tank. Make of that what you will. I'd argue the motor is slightly louder when it first comes on compared to when its been on for 5minutes however. The diffuser creates a nice mist however I wouldn't describe it as a 'gentle' mist, and probably peaks at around 11 inches from the top of the diffuser. Good enough to allow all my bedroom to smell nice. I will say that I can't tell any difference whatsoever when using the 'Big/small' option on the remote, which depicts the size of the mist. You can change the colour of the lighting which is nice, and there should be one that allows it to suit most rooms (red, purple, green, blue). There's also the ability to cycle through all the colours it has, which allows you to see some colours you can't have on constantly like pink for example. You can also have it running without the light on. Personally, I don't find the lighting tacky or anything like that. It looks very nice and doesn't make it look like a cheap toy. The diffuser leaves a slight oily film close to where it is. In my experience its been how I would expect. The vapour has to fall somewhere, so don't be put off by this. I bet there is film around your kettle too! The remote works from upto about 1 meter. The further way you get the more direct you have to point the IR blater at the diffuser, you will find yourself squeezing the buttons firmly as the remote doesn't give you a lot of confidence it's working, as you need to be fairly direct with pointing. An audible beep let's you know the diffuser is doing what you've told it to do. It's not too loud, its not going to wake anyone up. You press it more than click it if that makes sense, as the face of the remote is smoothed raised plastic over the buttons beneath it, rather than being stand alone buttons. It's alright though. Conclusion: It's a good diffuser if you're using it in 1 room of the house. The quality is good and lighting options allow it to fit into most spaces without standing out for the wrong reasons. It's easy to fill up and clean, and it's size allows me to keep it on my bedside table with room to spare. Whilst the remote isn't great, you'll only be messing about with it for a small amount of time before you've found the perfect setting. It gets the job done at the end of the day and the oils I've been using smell very fragrant and strong using this diffuser. I'd recommend it if you weren't fussed about spending too much.
