I bought one of these a while back so I could play my PS2 collection on my HD TV. At first I thought it was fine but unfortunately my first convertor broke, however considering the price that wasn’t too much of a hassle to replace.
However I’m doing so I also bought a SCART to HDMI output meaning I could finally use the original SCART cable I had for my PS2. I decided to compare and the results were interesting to say the least. As you may be able to see from the images, with the convertor the picture is *really* dark, it was probably a good thing I didn’t play too many horror games because it would have been impossible. I’ve tried cranking up the brightness to max but that didn’t really solve the issue. In comparison my SCART to HDMI box gave me a nice bright image, but the sharpness was terrible (text being very hard to read), while the HDMI convertor has a very sharp image.
So in the end, I’m either stuck with a grainy but well lit image, or a dark and sharp one, not ideal.
