  I bought this as a bedside clock and bought another for my hubbys side of the bed too. I also bought this as it uses part battery power and part solar power so the batteries should last a while. I'm really pleased I did!
  
  The clock is very small (A lot smaller than the picture makes it look) but this was fine for what I wanted it for. There are 3 different brightness settings on it which are basically not lit, quite dim or very bright.
  
  The middle one is enough to see it in the dark without straining but if you really prefer it bright the high setting is great but it does light up an otherwise dark bedroom.
  
  The display is big enough to see clearly too and it is very easy to set the time and the alarm.
  
  It came in very handy in a recent power cut as the clock wasn't plugged in so it stayed on and got me up in the morning. I have had clocks before which had to be plugged in and therefore went off in a power cut and left me running round in a tizz.
  
  Would recommend this item if you want a compact bedside clock or a decent travel clock
