    Excellent receiver, sound and video quality is excellent and has plenty of power for my speakers. Airplay works seamlessly most of the time with the occasional disconnect but that could be the internet.

    The app prompted me to do a firmware update which failed and completely bricked my receiver after 6 months of perfect working use, doesn’t respond to any button inputs and no process for resetting or factory reset. Basically broken by Yamaha update and I have no recourse for repair myself.

    UPDATE: Yamaha customer service we’re very helpful and referred me to a service centre to fix the software issues caused by the update at no cost as I was stillunder the warranty, however after the warranty period expires I won’t be trusting future firmware updates if the risk is that it could break such that it requires a service technician to repair.
