  I'm new to bonsai and have only used these on conifer that I thinned out and then made into a fan. And the tree is still alive!
  
  The different-sized wires are useful for anchoring the tree, and for branches of varying thickness. Once wrapped around, they hold their place well and make adjusting the branches very easy.
  
  A set of clippers is included and this cuts through all of the wires easily. I also use it for pruning.
  
  This set is great for beginners and there is ample wire for many trees.
